Happy Valentine’s Day?

Photo courtesy of our friend, the immensely talented, Khoa Tran.

Here’s to me falling asleep on the couch during our first married Valentine’s Day.

I only wish I was joking.

Anyway, I did say this site would feature a number of works-in-progress. I just didn’t realize I would be one of them. Yikes.

I would be remiss if I did not give credit to our friend, Khoa, for the accompanying photo. We selected a non-traditional song for our first dance (Joy Ride by The Killers) and I think Khoa captured it beautifully.

So, do yourself a favour and check out Khoa’s Flickr gallery (khoa_sus2’s photostream).

In the Press: Gatekeeper: The Fighting Life of Gary “Big Daddy” Goodridge

Gatekeeper Cover

In thirteen seconds–roughly the time it will take to read this sentence–Gary Goodridge delivered eight consecutive elbow strikes to the unprotected head of Paul Herrera, the second blow knocking his opponent unconscious.

To spectators, it was a sight that was as dramatic as it was terrifying; the ultimate first impression in a sport where the line between athletics and violence has always been blurred.

In thirteen seconds, Gary Goodridge became a star.

Did you know?

Did you know that I have a blog on WordPress.com? Don’t worry, neither did I, making the description of this site seem rather inaccurate.

Ugh, I stink.

Anyway, the main purpose of this blog–though I hesitate to use the word purpose–is to provide me with an outlet to write creatively and openly on any topic that happens to catch my interest at a given moment.

If that doesn’t capture your attention…

If I have one expectation, it’s that many of the entries will be works-in-progress rather than fully realized pieces (hence the title This Is Likely to Change), and will probably follow a sequence similar to: Draft-Preview-Edit-Preview-Publish-Edit-Edit-Update. Edit-Edit-Edit…

This could be a disaster. Part of me hopes it is.
